About the Council

About Us

Founded in 1997, the Georgia Credit Union Marketing Council is a network of credit union marketing, public relations, and business development professionals from credit unions around the state of Georgia. The council’s primary function is to enhance the skills of its members through a series of educational and networking opportunities. Members meet two to three times annually to learn and discuss marketing techniques, tools and ideas. Membership is at the credit union level, which allows a member credit union to extend membership benefits to any employee. While the Georgia Credit Union Marketing Council is a partner of the Georgia Credit Union Affiliates, membership in the council and the state league are separate.

Like the credit union industry, the Georgia Credit Union Marketing Council is led by a volunteer Board of Directors elected from within the membership. Directors serve up to two consecutive three-year terms, and spend their term coordinating the activities of the council. Board nominations and elections are held each fall to fill expiring terms. Any Georgia Credit Union Marketing Council member may run for election.
