Georgia Marketing Council Meeting, April 7-8, 2005

Midnight Marketing

By Kevin Shirley
Website Coordinator

Over 34 credit union Marketing and Business Development Professionals from Georgia and South Carolina attended the Georgia Marketing Council’s latest meeting held in Savannah, Georgia on Friday April 8, 2005. Savannah has a beautiful view, wonderful accommodations, great friends and speaker, the meeting proved to be a huge success.

The annual spring meeting began the night before as many of the council members met for dinner at the Pirate’s House. The Pirate’s House is one of the oldest restaurants in Savannah. After dinner, some of the council members took a haunted tour of Savannah. Whether it is good food or haunted spirits, Savannah has it all.

Georgia Marketing Council President Sharon Cook opened the meeting on Friday with a welcome and introduced the GMC Board of Directors. Sharon thanked Dawn White of The Coca-Cola Company Family Federal Credit Union for her service on the GMC Board of Directors. Fonda Semerjian then led attendees in a game of "Who am I?" to “break the ice.” The game allowed attendees to walk around the room asking questions and getting to know one another. The game was a lot of fun and helped us get know one another even better. After the game, our speaker Patrick Adams began his discussion entitled “Change is Inevitable.”

Patrick Adams is a dynamic and versatile credit union presenter who has devoted more then twenty years to the credit union movement. Patrick has been the Executive Vice President of the St. Louis Community Credit Union for more than fifteen years. Patrick emphasizes the use of technology, delivery systems, and business planning to provide credit union members with highest quality service-service designed to improve the financial well being of all members. Patrick’s high energy, enthusiasm, and
entertaining sessions challenge everyone to rethink old strategies and begin concentrating on the future.
